so cool to see him still in the game and he GOAT..., he can be in top 10 if hes healthy, but I think he´s just too old to be in the title race ( which would be Miracle) He relies on barrels, style, flow and some nice carves..which is a lot :-) . but to be really on top nowadays you need big maneuvers..

Some of the clips look so uncrowded. The story in the news yesterday said that the crowds have doubled on the point breaks on the Goldie in the last few years. I guess videos like this have helped push the numbers up. 7 years ago doesn't seem that long ago but COVID has changed surfing and maybe not for the better. Seems like it's crowded everywhere these days and with surfers who aren't very good. It's sort of destroyed the buzz of it all dealing with so many people in the lineup.

At 50 someone like Kelly Slater is in his prime. I know this for a fact because at 50 I broke a record in the mining industry which was held but a much younger man and it had been said this record could not be broken. 50 is an age where you have all the experience to draw from and expert at using your strengths. He could win it.

Even if he was to retire from the circuit, it would be hard to replace and top a legend. Like Ruth, Mays, Jordan, James, Smith, Manning, Montana, Ali and Robinson their fields. And no other athlete on the planet has more World Titles in their sport than Slater. He rocked.
